Introduction to Rocketry
Before you can meet any of your design challenges, you will need to gather some background information on rockets and the history of rockets.
Your first job will be to research two things as a team:
1) The history of rocketry
2) How rockets work
Everyone in your team will sign up for a Diigo account. You will be shown how to use Diigo in class. You are to use Diigo to highlight all webpages you find (highlighting the key information only), and use it to write a summary in a sticky note on the page.
After you have completed your research, you will need to write a summary of that research--together--in Google Docs. Share your summary with Mrs. E and Mrs. O. They will give you feedback concerning anything you might be missing.
Next, view the video below about how to make and use a basic water rocket. This course will be using nothing but water rockets. Rocket launchers will be provided; you will have to provide the bottles (bottles must be cleaned out first before using). No student may test any water rocket if they do not have a signed safety contract turned in to Mrs. E or Mrs. O.
